چکیده

We show how to recover the position and orientation of a pair of known coplanar conics from a single perspective image. We describe and compare a number of methods for determining this relationship. One uses a simple four point back projection model, and the other utilizing transformation invariants. These results can be extended in a number of ways. Firstly, they can be applied to arbitrary plane curves using an invariant tting technique. Secondly, the recovery methods are applicable to higher order algebraic curves. We show examples of pose determination for both synthetic data and real images of conic and non-conic objects. For example we recognise and determine pose for a gasket containing non-conic curves. We assess the methods for stability and for accuracy against an accepted standard-Tsai's calibration method 16]. We conclude that using such methods enables accurate pose determination for arbitrary plane curves .

Multi-View Calibration from Planar Motion for Video Surveillance

We present a technique for the registration of multiple surveillance cameras through the automatic alignment of image trajectories. The algorithm address the problem of recovering the relative pose of several stationary cameras that observe one or more objects in motion. Each camera tracks several objects to produce a set of trajectories in the image. Using a simple calibration procedure, we re...

Robot Motion Vision Pait I: Theory

A direct method called fixation is introduced for solving the general motion vision problem, arbitrary motion relative to an arbitrary environment. This method results in a linear constraint equation which explicitly expresses the rotational velocity in terms of the translational velocity. The combination of this constraint equation with the Brightness-Change Constraint Equation solves the gene...

High Accuracy Relative Motion of Spacecraft Using Linearized Time-Varying J2-Perturbed Terms

This paper presents a set of linearized equations was derived for the motion, relative to an elliptical reference orbit, of an object influenced by J2 perturbation terms. Approximate solution for simulations was used to compare these equations and the linearized keplerian equations to the exact equations. The inclusion of the linearized perturbations in the derived equations increased the high ...

Accuracy of single-plane fluoroscopy in determining relative position and orientation of total knee replacement components.

The accuracy of estimating the relative pose between knee replacement components, in terms of clinical motion, is important in the study of knee joint kinematics. The objective of this study was to determine the accuracy of the single-plane fluoroscopy method in calculating the relative pose between the femoral component and the tibial component, along knee motion axes, while the components wer...

Multiview Reconstruction of Space Curves

Is the real problem in resolving correspondence using current stereo algorithms the lack of the “right” matching criterion? In studying the related task of reconstructing threedimensional space curves from their projections in multiple views, we suggest that the problem is more basic: matching and reconstruction are coupled, and so reconstruction algorithms should exploit this rather than assum...
